Palin Takes On Elections Next Week

She already made her bombshell announcement supporting Doug Hoffman in NY-23. Now, she's taking to task Jon Corzine in New Jersey and Creigh Deeds in Virginia. In a sweeping endorsement, she spoke about Corzine and McDonell's tax policy:
[New Jersey] has the highest tax burden in the country and the incumbent Democrat governor has only added to the economic burden. He eliminated property tax rebates for middle class homeowners while the sales tax increased... It’s no surprise that New Jersey has the highest unemployment rate in the region! Then in Virginia, there is a clear difference between Republican Bob McDonnell and his liberal opponent. Republican Bob McDonnell is fighting for cheaper American energy and lower taxes, while his opponent wants to raise taxes and, amazingly, even bragged about having more earmarks than any other state legislator. Bob McDonnell...opposes some heavy-handed union leadership efforts that could ultimately hurt employers and employees. Read the whole thing on Facebook.

Re: Matt Drudge, "No Pawlenty Can Not Top Obama"

Unfunded, not yet known... I like Minnesota's Governor Tim Pawlenty, but let me be clear about this up front here. He's presently a distant 4th place at BEST amongst GOP hopefuls for 2012. As I've written repeatedly over the last few months, the nomination, at present is Gov. Mike Huckabee's to lose. I know the memes that are crawling out of the mouth of Romney supporters, but it's true and you know it. Pawlenty is plenty conservative enough for the party, and as a popular twice elected Governor of his state he just now joins the field of 3 other Governors who were also popular. Pawlenty is a nice guy, he's well spoken, he's got a great temperment and he is pretty well known in Minnesota. But that's about where it ends. Look at the field so far: Palin & Romney are definitely running. Huckabee is 95% likely to run. Pawlenty doesn't offer anything new that these three haven't already offered. And keep this in mind for 2012. The winning message will include a component that is anti-tax. (Huckabee is on record to break up the IRS, and convert the nation to a fair tax. And don't listen to Hugh on this one. Though the fair tax is outrageously different than the present system, it would be a morally & Constitutionally appropriate tax, and it WILL be an attractive alternative to the continued escalation of taxes from the Obama administration.) Romney will be hobbled by the failure of the Massachusetts health care system--a system he authored--where $50 abortions can be accessed on the state's dime, but many needed procedures are not always accessible. That coupled with the fact that he could not finish higher than third in the last election cycle--even after spending gobs of his own cash--bode very poorly for him in attempting another run. Though I am convinced he will run again... Palin has enormous popularity, enormous brand, and will be able to raise a fer amount of cash by the time the important election cycle comes along. It will be important for her to out perform the others in the debates, to manage her team, message, and brand wisely, and her ability to continue to have that "I am every mom" sort of practicality in order for her to even have a chance. Huckabee was severely hurt by the Romney forces in the last primary. There were a dozen PACs or so run by Romney staffers that continually fed misinformation to National Review. That dishonest, non-factual, and manipulated information was then repeated by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. He will not be so easily thus manipulated this go around. Coulter and Limbaugh will owe him apologies over the way they portrayed him in 2008. But he will rally the faith-based, the genuine conservative, the disaffected that John McCain seemed to have no use for. He has the top rated show of the entire weekend on ANY news channel. He invites liberals on to argue with him about policy, and he will have miles of video tape with his STATED positions on things. Might Romney resurge the Mormon/Christian debate? Yes, possibly, but not in a way that help himself. Might Palin sell more books than the Governor between now then. Of course. But when the dust settles the image of Huckabee will be his ability take on anyone in the establishment, to win through smiles, hugs, and jokes, and that he will not allow others to brand him this go around. For all of the above reasons Tim Pawlenty can not win. But it does not mean he should not run. MANY people RUN for President but few of them think they could actually WIN. The truth is merely running for President brings many side benefits that candidates find very helpful. Running in 2012 is a good prep lap for 2016 or 2020l. And it wouldn't be the most terrible thing in the world if Pawlenty ran with an eye for the future. But this go 'round, if Huck wants it, he will be the nominee. I said it first, I've said it longest, and the rationale still makes the most sense. Humility and Lower Taxes vs. Harvard Elitism and Out-Of-Control Tax and Spend. That's just way too easy of a choice!

"Harass-u-lations Xtreme Radio!!!" As hard as it is for us to believe it, the next episode of Xtreme Radio marks the 1st Anniversary of the broadcast that began 52 weeks ago. Previous guests, and people who have been the subject of some of our topics have been invited to tell us what they think of this crazy little show. By the way you're welcome to tell us what you like/dislike as well - 800.345.9622. Starting on only 3 stations, and now nearing 200 next week we welcome our two newest affiliates. Also Obama got caught checking out the derriere of a 16yr old girl at the G8. But if every man on earth does such a thing, why is it a bigger deal if a President does it? And what can girls understand from this phenomenon. Also a new investigation has just concluded that the Bush surveillance methods did a lot more than anyone realized, even further "violating the right to privacy." So why hasn't President Obama stopped the operations? Maybe we're missing something, you tell us if we are tonight. 800.345.9622.

"If Palin wants to run in 2012, why not do exactly what she announced today?"

From Bill Kristol, a guy I trust more than anyone else when it comes to Palinalysis:
...she's freeing herself from the duties of the governorship. Now she can do her book, give speeches, travel the country and the world, campaign for others, meet people, get more educated on the issues - and without being criticized for neglecting her duties in Alaska. I suppose she'll take a hit for leaving the governorship early - but how much of one? She's probably accomplished most of what she was going to get done as governor, and is leaving a sympatico lieutenant governor in charge.
...it's going to be a high-wire act. The odds are against her pulling it off. But I wouldn't bet against it.

A Hard Choice, But The Right One

I'm disappointed. Doing it right after the Vanity Fair controversy, muddled in investigations, with nary a few months to see her term through -- why bow out now? And I fear the worst: that Palin has a skeleton in the closet, one she doesn't want to come out while she's still in a position of power. Her lack of reasoning during her press conference would provide fodder for that theory.
But I trust her to have done the right thing. I trust her a lot more than I did, say, Mark Sanford, after that first rambling presser. Palin seems more shrewd than that -- she knows what she's doing. She's looking at the cards and isn't just holding out for the river, but instead cashing in her chips when she thinks she should. Maybe it's for her family, or for the integrity of the Alaskan GOP. Maybe its for her future presidential run, or maybe it's just because she's just sick of politics all together. But in any of these situations, staying one more day past July 26 just wasn't going to work out. I'm disappointed at that choice, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that it was the right one.

Dominating Los Angeles Talk Radio tonight... 4-7pm PST (McCullough vs. Hewitt, Round Two)

We did it... I'm out! Tonight, the two largest bloggers at Townhall.com go after audience share in Los Angeles head to head. Here's why you should be checking out the FM talker in LA tonight...
At 4pm PST time tonight we will take a look at a mom, who's had enough, accomplished what she stated, loves her family... and today... quit her job. Do you believe the reason, the rationale, the timing of Sarah Palin's resignation?
Also tonight... the latest plans are made for Michael Jackson's showing, and a simple question for me is... Do the fans NEED a huge public memorial at the Staple Center?
A new game show seeks to convert atheists, the contest will feature an imam, a rabbi, and a priest. Grand prize is a free trip to the holy land of their conversion?
Some are also crying out for the firing of a teacher who "accidentally" put video of herself having sex on the DVD of her second graders year in review highlight reel. Some are calling for her firing. She called parents begging forgiveness and mortification. Discipline? Termination? If it were your child... what would you want to see happen?
Are people who are unsure of their beliefs more closed minded? I wanted to add this as a topic but couldn't decide... Watch, listen, chat... right here:

April's Mom gets caught, and women are rising up against Letterman...

Coming up on tonight's XTREME RADIO with Baldwin/McCullough:
An exclusive sneak peek at the summer's biggest television hit, "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here!" Go behind the scenes in the weekly visits with Stephen Baldwin on the set in Costa Rica. This is stuff even NBC doesn't have access to, and join us each week for more of the same.
1. The ****NEW**** Pro-Life SCAM!: In Hour One... She got caught telling the biggest "pro-life" fib of all. She wasn't pregnant. She wasn't carrying a terminally ill child. So now the media is ready to put the entire pro-life movement on trial for the rogue actions of the fibbing fibber who got caught known only to her readers as "April's Mom." Here's the interesting thing about this, I just don't see what the fuss is. Maybe I'm missing something, you tell me if I am tonight. 800.345.9622. 2. What does Letterman teach us about men and women today?:
In Hour Two... He called the former VP candidate a "sl*tty flight attendant" and used his monologue to fantasize about her fourteen year old daughter being a prostitute to Elliot Spitzer (denounced former NY Governor who frequented ladies of the night) and Alex Rodriguez who has been spotted kanoodling with strippers, Madonna, and anything in a skirt. So should Letterman lose his job for encouraging statutory rape? Actually I find this the more interesting question, "What does Letterman feeling the freedom to say such things say about men and women in today's world?" That there is no difference between the two and that instead of being treated EQUAL they should mere be treated EXACTLY THE SAME AS? Now that's a fairly horrible reality... 800.345.9622.
Making it all happen...

David Gutter-man's Non-Apology stuffed with the guts of a lie...

Raping my daughter... NOT funny... In case you haven't heard there has been a pretty significant kerfuffle that has popped up in the past 48 hours between the new king of late night David Letterman (who has been stomping all over Conan) and the last VP candidate for the GOP. On Tuesday night's show Letterman said the following: On Wednesday night's show he clearly changed the story: Letterman is lying on some important specifics. 1. He never once mentioned Bristol Palin in the off color editorial on Tuesday night. 2. The invention that he had been talking about Palin's 18 year old daughter in the jokes is also not true on its face also, because she didn't TAKE Bristol to NYC or the Yankee game. 3. He did imply rape--of a statutory nature--(at minimum) occurring to Palin's daughter. Actually any sexual act against the daughter would have been, even if she had consented, because of how the laws are written. 4. In referring to Palin as a "slut" in he same broadcast it becomes clear that his intention was to broadly paint Palin and her daughters collectively as sexually loose. (In changing his story, and untruthfully claiming Bristol had been the original focus of his attack he actually tips his hand that it was sexual looseness he was attempting to imply.) In speaking with a prominent anchor at Fox News earlier today I discovered that for such insinuation on a much lower level of intent and reach a television executive lost her job for implying that said anchor was sexually loose at a previous television news employer. That executive was fired, and it was this Fox News' anchor's opinion that Letterman should be forced to undergo--at minimum--a suspension. Oh and by the way Dave... America and the Palins are STILL awaiting an apology from you. To attack on 14 year old, underage daughter of an upstanding American family, is to attack the safety of every 14 year old girl. Especially from a viagra'd-up 62 year old who few would be willing to leave their 14 year old alone with on a television stage, much less a private conversation with.

April 1st! (What does it mean?) Here's just SOME of what we're hitting this Saturday night:
1. The biggest story of the week: SARAH PALIN weighs in!!!: In Hour One... This week President Obama made history by being the first sitting President to dishonor the office by guesting on Late Night. But the fury from every website on the far left, to the right wing has been unanimous. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will weigh in on the issue! Then... is the media playing a very big double standard with the President's insulting comments. How do you see it? 800.345.9622 to tell us your thoughts on what the "right" thing to do is. 2. "You guys are having a Bro-Mance!":
In Hour Two... This week, the leading comedy at the box office highlights the issue of distinctly male friendship. Guys doing "guy stuff" and having "guy friends" is the norm for everyone right? The new movie "I Love You Man" says no! But an even better follow up question to the girls on this one, "Should you even consider marrying a guy who doesn't have any man friends?" Kevin says, "ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not at least if you want a happy marriage!" Of course if you disagree, jump to the front of the line...800.345.9622.

Crist: Thank Goodness he was NOT our VP Choice

From Politico: "President Barack Obama and Gov. Charlie Crist sharing a stage in battleground Florida to stump for the same economic stimulus plan might seem like an unusual alliance. But the Democratic president and the Republican governor are more similar than they appear at first glance."
adding...
"Crist also tends to overlook the far right of the GOP – saying last year, for instance, that he would vote for an anti-gay marriage amendment, but refusing to campaign for it. His stance has prompted complaints from religious conservatives about the governor ."
and...
"A consummate politician, Crist grew quieter in his support for McCain as the November election neared, and polls showed Obama far ahead." With friends like that in the fox hole with you, who needs enemies? "Obama won Florida in November by almost three percentage points, or about 227,000 votes, despite Crist’s endorsement of McCain since the Saturday before the primary, which proved pivotal to the Arizona senator clinching the Republican nomination." Gee if Crist hadn't gone so "quiet," would McCain have won this pivitol state? Hmmm.
Republicans lost in 2006 and 2008 because they moved to far to the left, spent like drunken sailors, and put up a wishy washy candidate for President that barely offered a difference between himself and Obama. To think that McCain considered Crist as a running mate only goes to underscore how important it is for us to nominate true conservatives, show the differences between conservatism and liberalsim, and give the voters a clear alternative. Democrat-lite doesn't work, doesn't win elections, and doesn't move conservatism forward. Thank Goodness we got Sarah Palin as our choice and not some wishy washy VP like Charlie Crist.

Palin SCHOOLS Judd

Actress Ashley Judd appeared this week in a new Internet video for Defenders of Wildlife, and targeted Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, on the issue of thinning down dangerous wolf breeds that were wiping out Alaska's native Caribou and Moose populations. "It's time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery," Judd said in the video posted on a Web site operated by the political arm of the group, Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund. Palin hit back with precision Tuesday night, calling Judd's group one that “distorts” the goal of Alaska’s predator control programs. “Alaskans depend on wildlife for food and cultural practices which can’t be sustained when predators are allowed to decimate moose and caribou populations,” Palin said in the statement. She added: “Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these rough economic times.” "A lot of the far east coast politicians think it's just so politically incorrect." Not to mention one or two uninformed B-list actresses who can't seem to help themselves from making public comments demeaning the competency of a Governor with way more smarts than them... Captain Ed also commented on this and highlighted this important reality: For a group that wants to protect wildlife, they seem strangely unconcerned about the plight of the caribou and moose … unless it comes to drilling in ANWR, which doesn’t actually harm the caribou at all. By the way, Palin’s strategy worked. Biologists in the state’s Fish and Game Department estimate that the caribou herds increased to 6500 this year, thanks to the reduced threat from wolves. The birth rate went from one calf per 100 cows to 39 calfs per 100 cows, which will help herd growth for the next several years. Another season without the aerial hunt might have wiped out the caribou herds altogether.
