Poll
How should California make up the projected 28 billion dollar shortfall projected over the next 20 months?

THE POLL: Suffolk University presidential poll of 600 likely Florida voters. (27 electoral votes)

THE NUMBERS: Barack Obama, 46 percent, John McCain, 42 percent.

OF INTEREST: Barack Obama has opened a narrow four-point lead over John McCain in Florida. The turmoil on Wall Street appears to be helping Obama. When asked which, if any, political party was to blame for the crisis, 39 percent blamed the Republicans, 19 percent blamed Democrats, 24 percent said neither and 17 percent were undecided. Sarah Palin appears to have had only a marginal added benefit for the GOP ticket, with 40 percent saying her presence on the ticket made them more likely to vote for John McCain, 36 percent saying less likely, and 22 percent saying they weren't sure.

DETAILS: Conducted Sept. 27-30 by telephone survey with 600 likely Florida voters. Sampling error plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Subject: REPUBLICAN TRUE FACE COMING NOW

With the clearly failing campaign of McCain, expect a desperate and breathtaking resurrection of Lee Atwater slime.

Watch, in particular, for renewed efforts to smear Senator Barack Obama's patriotism, sexuality and judgment. So far, America has seen through the lies, for the most part, but with the waning days of the campaign showing less and less traction, expect vile outbursts.

"Did you know Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a Muslim?"

"Did you know barack HUSSEIN Obama gave the nukuler launch codes to achemindioangokdjakaahahajad?"

"I heard that Barack HUSSEIN Obama gave birth to TWO BLACK CHILDREN!!"

"Barack Hussein Obamam wants Charlie Manson to take your daughter TO THE PROM!!"

Like that.

Fortunately, every state now has a Liar Response Team (tm) in place, and they have been very effective, most recently in Missouri.

It's over. As long as McCain doesn't start weeping, and talk about his "good Republican cloth coat for his wife" and "his dog Checkers", we should be good.
