Unseasonably cold temperatures, rain and snow were forecast for much of the West on Saturday, while showers and thunderstorms were expected in parts of the Southeast. Snow was likely across the Rockies and into Montana, where various winter storm warnings were in effect. Freeze warnings were issued along the Northwest coast, while wind advisories were in effect from Northern California through the Southwest. Significant rain was forecast for New Mexico and eastern Colorado. It was projected to move into the northern Plains as the day progresses. Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms were forecast for the Carolinas and Georgia. The Northeast was expected to rise into the 70s, while the Southeast was to see temperatures in the 70s and 80s. The Intermountain West was forecast to rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Northwest was to see temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
